Overview
Folks Finance is soon launching a governance $FOLKS Snapshot-based voting system. Each token held will be equivalent to 1 vote.
A snapshot for the first measure has been taken at 2026-04-21 00:00:00 GMT
The first official governance vote conducted by the Folks Finance community will ask the community to vote on a temporary up to 12-month transfer restriction on token allocations held by a defined subset of early supporters, advisors, and core contributors.
Context & Rationale
The broader digital asset market continues to face sustained headwinds: geopolitical instability, macroeconomic pressure, rising energy costs, and compressed liquidity. In this environment, uncoordinated token flows from early allocations risk contributing to short-term volatility and inefficient price discovery, ultimately working against the interests of the wider community.
This proposal exists to protect that community and the entire ecosystem. By temporarily reducing the risk of short-term supply shocks and supporting more orderly market conditions, the measure aims to preserve the conditions under which Folks Finance can continue to grow and deliver on its long-term roadmap. The health of the protocol is a shared interest, and this measure is designed with that in mind.
Folks Finance is at a critical stage of its development: the team is fully committed to executing on a demanding roadmap, with the goal of delivering the protocol’s most significant evolution to date. The intent of this measure is to ensure that everyone with an early allocation remains fully aligned with the protocol until that vision is realised.
The proposed measure will apply to the allocations of a defined subset of eligible early supporters, advisors, and core contributors, while the broader community and general token holders will not be affected. For the avoidance of doubt, this proposal is intended to introduce only a temporary restriction during the approved period, and not to cancel, reduce, or permanently deprive any affected holder of the relevant allocation. Any restrictions will be implemented transparently on-chain using specific smart contracts and a software tool.
